Samsung has announced the new Samsung branded 1.4GHz quad-core processor “Exynos” will be inside Samsung’s future Galaxy phone S3, the Samsung Galaxy S3 reveal date has been announced as May 3 in London.

The South Korean company said that the processor is capable of speeds exceeding 1.4GHz per core, this doubles the processing power while also utilizing 20% less energy than its dual-core predecessor, the Exynos 4 Dual. More cores will use up more battery power, Apple has a great power management system for the quad-core iPad which can be used up to 10 hours. Samsung will need a similar or even better power management system to keep the consumers interested. Samsung confirmed that the quad-core chip is exactly the same size as the dual-core version, meaning manufacturer companies would not have to redesign certain parts of the phone.

My guess is that Samsung will once again copy Apple and use the quad-core chip to improve on the 3-D game play and bring in new app developers, maybe Samsung will improve on the pixels density of the new Galaxy device.
