According to a report from newspaper company Nikkei, Sony is in talks with Olympus to make a $623 million dollar investment making it the biggest shareholder in Olympus. Other reports are suggesting thatĀ the deal is fairly close to being finalized and could be wrapped as soon as within the next two months. When Tsuyoshi Oshima, a spokesperson for Olympus, was asked about the deal he said:
“This is not something that we have announced. It has not been decided yet”
Olympus seemsĀ to be in a really bad shape, so hopefully by Sony investing in Olympus they could get back on track. [Source]
